Synopsis:

Ryan (Troy Gentile), Wade (Nate Hartley) and Emmit (David Dorfman) attend their first day at high school and they're pumped -- until they meet up with Filkins (Alex Frost), a school bully who comes off like a little Hannibal Lecter. Before they become completely engulfed in Filkins' reign of terror, they seek out some protection by placing an ad in Soldier of Fortune magazine. Their best response -- and the cheapest -- comes from Drillbit Taylor (Owen Wilson), a down-on-his luck soldier of fortune who lives a homeless -- he likes to say "home-free" -- existence on the beach. He enrolls them in some physical and mental training.

5 out of 5 stars 5 stars for pure relaxing entertainment   July 8, 2008

Before I go into this movie, I have to say that the fat kid with curly hair in this movie has got to be Jonah Hill's little brother (even though he isn't).

What brought me to giving this movie a 5 star review is the fact that Owen Wilson (a decorated comedian) and a bunch of inexperienced kids had such great on screen chemistry. I believed everything I saw all the way down to the oblivious principal and slap happy parents. This was an enjoyable experience that is worth the purchase.

5 out of 5 stars You'll like it if you're a teenager...   July 5, 2008

Being in high school, I loved this movie. I think it was geared toward a teenage audience and most of the humor in it is meant for teenagers. If you are in high school, you will probably love this movie. Adults, maybe not so much.

The acting was excellent, and I liked the story line too. I thought it was overall a really funny movie that I plan on purchasing.

5 out of 5 stars I watched it 3 times in one day.   July 8, 2008

I notice how this movie didn't get rated with 5 stars. Maybe because Owen Wilson is always funny with ben stiller by his side. But I gotta say he pulled it off without B.Stiller. Not all can relate to this movie. I know I wish I had someone to fend off the bullies while I was in school. LOL!

well, my fav part was when Owen ( Drillbit) told the kids to find a common ground with the bullies. So the fat kid had a free-style (rap) competition with the main bully. Except he only made the bullies more furious and embarassed them.

there are other funny parts in the movie but this just made the movie..to me anyway.

As always, Owen Wilson has created a whole new character in 'Drillbit Taylor.' This movie will keep you rolling in the floor with laughter. Thanks Amazon.com!

I thought this movie was just going to be another some-what funny movie. Dam, me and my wife laughed so hard, some scenes were basically unexpected! I would say a must have!!!
